We’re still in autumn here in the UK, but the temperature is already decreasing day by day. As someone who works in fashion, this change in weather has, of course, got me thinking about the outfits I want to wear from now on and well into the winter season. I have to admit, I’m guilty of prioritising practicality whenever it’s cold outside, wanting nothing more than to bundle up underneath a simple fleece or puffer coat. And whilst there’s definitely nothing wrong with this, for winter 2025, I want all of my outfits to be equal parts practical and elegant.
In order to be well prepared, I’ve already started saving the chic and refined looks that I’ve spotted on my favourite Instagram influencers, with plans to recreate them when the winter season finally arrives. And they have me wishing away the transitional season and actually looking forward to the cold weather. For winter 2025 specifically, chic dressers, from Paris to Norway, are focusing on creating looks that still feel elevated, but put cosiness and comfort at the forefront. Think classic wool coats styled with chunky ‘cool-girl’ boots or slouchy double-denim co-ords worn with sleek pointed flats. It’s all about looking cool and stylish whilst still feeling cosy and warm.
Keep scrolling to discover the nine cosy—yet effortlessly chic—outfits to copy for winter 2025 and beyond.
9 Elegant But Practical Outfit Ideas I’ve Added to My Winter Moodboard:
1. Boxy Coat + Tailored Trousers + Chelsea Boots
Style Notes: Charcoal grey has my heart again this season, and I’m planning to re-create this head-to-toe monochrome look as soon as I possibly can. Add some chunky Chelsea boots to contrast the sleek tailoring and you’re set.

2. Chunky Cardigan + Knitted Skirt + Knee-High Boots

3. Wool Blazer + Button-Up Shirt + Leather Trousers
Style Notes: I’ve been wearing blazers all autumn, and I have no plans of stopping when the temperature drops. For winter, I’ll be looking for thick wool iterations that can double as outerwear and pairing them with buttery soft leather trousers.
