The latest Team GO Rocket Take Over Event is set to take place in Pokémon GO with Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025. The event will run alongside the normal fashion week event, which is currently taking place and features the debut of Fashionable Minccino. The Taken Over event doesn’t run for a full week but gives trainers plenty of chance to participate, running from Wednesday, January 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. local time until Sunday, January 19, 2025, at 8 p.m. local time.
The event sees a considerable increase in the number of Team GO Rocket members at PokeStops and in balloons, including Grunts, Leaders, and the Boss. On top of this, the latest special research is introduced into Pokémon GO, following on from previous Team GO Rocket tasks. These can be completed by defeating Grunts, Leaders and tracking down Boss Giovanni. A host of bonuses are taking place during the event, making it one that players should not miss.
All Pokémon Debuts During Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025
Two Debuts And Lots Of Shadow Pokémon
During Pokémon GO Fashion Week Taken Over 2025, two Pokémon make their full debuts in the game. Shroodle and its evolved form Grafaiai. They are both from Gen 9 and the Paldea region, with the unique Poison- and Normal-types. From the start of this event, Shroodle is one of the possible Pokémon that can be hatched from 12km eggs. While these take the longest time to hatch, they offer some of the rarest Pokémon in the game that can’t be caught in any other way.

Nearly 10 Years After Release, Pokémon GO Still Needs To Fix These Major Mistakes To Keep Fans Happy In 2025
Pokémon GO’s popularity is dwindling nearly ten years after launch, and developers need to fix several major problems to keep trainers happy in 2025.
Once you have hatched a Shroodle, it will require a total of 50 Shroodle candies to be able to evolve it into Grafaiai. These can be built up by either hatching multiple Shroodles, using rare candies on them, or walking with them while it is your buddy Pokémon.
12km eggs are given to players each time they defeat a Team GO Rocket Leader, as long as you have a slot in your egg storage.
On top of this, a number of Pokémon make their shadow versions debuts. They are headlined by Shadow Palkia, who is one of the strongest Dragon-types currently available in Pokémon GO. A new Special Research will be unlocked for all players as part of the event. This final stage will see you again take on Team GO Boss Giovanni. Defeat him, and you will get the chance to catch Shadow Palkia. You will be able to launch this new special research until the end of the Dual Destiny season on March 4. Once you have started the first stage of the research, the rest will be available to you, regardless of how long it takes.

In addition to Shadow Palkia, six more Shadow Pokémon can be caught for the first time: Taillow, Snivy, Tepig, Oshawott, Trubbish, and Bunnelby. These Pokémon can all be found by facing Rocket Grunts and Team GO Leader Cliff, Arlo, and Sierra. All of these also have the potential of being found in their shiny form. If you defeat a member of Team GO Rocket who leads with one of these Pokémon, you will get the opportunity to catch it upon winning the battle.
All Raids During Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025
Returning Shadow Raids For You To Take Down
In addition to debuts, shadow raids available in Pokémon GO are changing for the duration of the event. While none of these are new shadow Pokémon, lots have huge potential if you can defeat them, as well as the monthly January raids. In 1-star shadow raids, shadow Nidoran males and females will both be available. On top of this, Totodile and Ralts are also available in the lowest raids. All four of these 1-star raids can be easily defeated on your own as long as you use Pokémon that are super-effective against the one you are facing. Both Nidoran-types and Ralts also come with the possibility of being shiny during the event.
Any gyms that are not under Team GO Rocket control during the event will have the standard raids currently in circulation available.
There are also three 3 star shadow raids that you can take on during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Generation One Electabuzz and Magmar will both provide a tough test for trainers. From Gen 2, Wobbuffet is also available in Shadow Raids. Individual trainers can all beat these solo if you have a full line-up that is super-effective against them. If not, they can comfortably be beaten by three trainers.
All Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025 Rewards
Further Bonuses Available To Trainers
Additional incentives and bonuses are available for players participating in Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025 in Pokémon GO. Firstly, as an addition to the standard Fashion Week event, you can potentially gain a surprise encounter with Fashionable Croagunk if you take snapshots when catching Pokémon during the event.
Another bonus of the event is that you can use a Charged TM on a Shadow Pokémon to forget the Charged Attack Frustration, which they know by default. Event-themed field research tasks will also be available. These can be added to your field research tab by spinning either PokeStops or Gyms during the event when you have a slot available. While these specific tasks have not yet been confirmed, the rewards for completing them will include Fast TMs, Charged TMs, and Mysterious Components.
The latest Collection Challenge will be added to Pokémon GO for trainers to complete. Again, the Pokémon that you need to catch to complete the collection has not yet been confirmed. However, if you complete it, you will get a new badge, stardust to power up your Pokémon, and an encounter with a Trubbish. Finally, the event does offer a sale in the game shop. The Team GO Rocket Box is available to buy for 300 in-game PokeCoins. This box will include one egg incubator, Rocket Radar, and the Premium Battle Pass.
The Fashion Week: Taken Over 2025 event in Pokémon GO is one that all players should take advantage of to add the debuting Shroodle and Grafaiai to your collection.
