One month after TikToker Taylor Magee (@taylor.magee) got married to her husband, she found his secret second phone. They were together for a total of 10 years and had a beautiful destination wedding.
But after finding the phone, she left her husband and didn’t tell anyone about it for a year. It wasn’t the kind of situation where she could leave immediately.
They were living together for several months before she finally found somewhere else to live. Those were the worst months of her life, filled with constant fighting.
“He thought that we were going to save the relationship,” said Taylor. “I knew from the second that I saw what I saw, I’m out of there. There’s no coming back from that.”
She stopped hanging out with her friends, responding to text messages, and posting on social media to deal with the fallout. She didn’t know how to tell people what was going on because it admittedly made her feel embarrassed.
Being horribly cheated on was humiliating to her. She also felt like she had failed at love, marriage, and being an adult. She didn’t know how she had missed the signs.
To top it all off, his parents lied about attending their destination wedding in Mexico. The day before the wedding, his mom texted, saying that they weren’t going to make it.
That was unforgivable to Taylor and slightly fishy. Almost as if they had known something she didn’t.
Now, it’s been a year and a half. Taylor has talked it out with her friends, gone to therapy, and is working on healing. She lives in a new house with her dogs and has gotten her life together fairly well.

She is proud of how she built herself back up. It took a while to get there, but in the end, it was all worth it. She didn’t lose anything except for her ex-husband and the ideas of what she thought married life was going to look like.
“Moral of the story: you feel like you’re not going to make it,” concluded Taylor. “I didn’t think I was going to make it. But life goes on, and sometimes life gets better.”
In the comments section, many TikTok users praised Taylor for standing strong, and some even shared their own experiences with betrayal.
“My boyfriend of three years had a whole child from the beginning of our relationship with a coworker, and his whole family knew,” commented one user.
“I got married [in] April 2019 and filed for divorce by November 2019, the same day I found out he was cheating on me. Leaving was the best decision I ever made. Proud of you!!” exclaimed another.
“I found out my husband was cheating six weeks after getting married. I filed for divorce last week,” added a third.
