Brides in the mid-Michigan region have a new and affordable place to find their dream dress at Bazzle Bridal in downtown Gladwin.
Bazzle Bridal, an all-female-owned family business, held its grand opening on Jan. 11 at 113 W. Cedar Ave. The shop, located on the second floor of the Redeemed Marketplace building, is in the space formerly held by Merrily Ever After.
The store is open Wednesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The business is owned and operated by Amy Jo Bazzle, her daughter Brooklyn and her daughter-in-law Jenna. The three women are focused on providing a relaxing experience for brides as they shop for a high-quality wedding dress at an affordable price.
“(Our mission statement is) serving the mid-Michigan area by providing a relaxing and carefree environment for our clients and providing high-end bridal trends for low-end budgets while maintaining a personalized quality experience for every shopper,” Jenna Bazzle said.
The store will be offering new and consigned wedding dresses, including vintage dresses, as well as accessories. While the focus is on bridal dresses, the owners also plan to offer consigned formal wear for various occasions.
“We want to be able to offer viable options for families of all financial brackets,” Amy Jo said. “With Jenna’s expertise in fashion and wedding dress alteration, she has been making some unique vintage pieces and reworking them into reception dresses or reinventing the wedding dress to make it more current.”
All of the women have their own experiences in the bridal and retail industries, including Jenna, who attended fashion school and has worked in wedding fashion for several years. In addition to dress sales, she will provide dress fittings and alteration services for customers.
The three owners are aiming to provide a “very personal” experience at their shop. To accomplish this, they will offer two-hour private consultations at an affordable rate and are open to scheduling appointments outside of their regular business hours if needed.
“We are definitely wanting to be one of the most personal wedding dress shopping experiences in Michigan,” Amy Jo said. “When people come in, they know that they matter, they are recognized, they are valued.”
The women were inspired to start this business because they found a lack of options for brides in the area.
“There just wasn’t anything available in this area,” Amy Jo said. “We’ve been hearing from different people that we needed something like this in town…With Jenna, Brooklyn and I having the desire to bring something that would be a blessing to the community, it seemed like a really good fit.”
In addition to helping brides find their perfect fit, the women are also passionate about building strong marriages and supporting their customers however they can.
“As a family, we want to serve the other families in the community,” Jenna said. “We want to be there to support the future marriages, not just the wedding day itself.”
