At Dior’s Spring 2025 show, creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri made her inspiration clear from the outset—the runway began with competitive archer SAGG Napoli pointing her bow and arrow at a painted target. What followed was a collection of militaristic sportswear in strong, neutral tones. There were cut-out leotards, checkered tracksuits, cargo-style shorts, and lace-up sandals—ending with Grecian, draped gowns. Many of the models carried crossbody purses resembling quivers.

“The keyword Maria Grazia used was Amazons. It’s about strong women who, in this case, workout or have just come from a heroic battlefield,” Dior creative and image director Peter Philips said. “It’s an apres-sport look.”

Watching the show at Paris’s Musée Rodin was an A-list crowd, many dresse in muted, neutral shades matching the colors on the runway.

Elizabeth Debicki, who recently won the Emmy Award for her role as Princess Diana on The Crown, attended the show in a black and white herringbone wrap coat, worn over top a long, silky, cream dress. Nodding to her on screen character, Debicki carried a bejeweled Lady D-Joy purse, a version of the brand’s Lady Dior bag, named after Princess Diana. In another vintage-inspired move, Debicki tied a silk scarf around her head and wore dark, rectangular sunglasses.

As for real-life royals, Queen of Norway Sonja Haraldsen attended the Paris fashion week show in a collared shirt, long black skirt, and pale pink wrap. She posed for a photo with Brigitte Macron, wife of French president Emmanuel Macron, and Dior CEO Delphine Arnault. Macron opted for a black skirt suit with knot buttons down the front. She chose to accessorize with a double wrapped pearl necklace and black leather Lady Dior purse.

French actress Isabelle Adjani also made an appearance in a khaki trench coat, matching khaki, menswear-inspired trousers, and a black shirt. She paired the set with black leather gloves, large, dark round sunglasses, and a black newsboy cap resting atop the crown of her head.

Despite all of the hometown icons, there was still a large group of American actresses at the Dior show. Natalie Portman wore a black lace-up corset, black velvet cropped jacket, and a black and white bubble skirt—yet another bygone trend perhaps making a return. She slicked back her hair and accessorized with a large Dior bee logo pendant and black, buckled, knee-high boots.

Kelly Rutherfold chose an all white ensemble, in a double breasted, belted coat with gold buttons, knee high boots, and matching Lady Dior purse. She popped on large, cat eye sunglasses to walk into the venue.

And, finally, actress Anya Taylor-Joy went more avant-garde with her outfit. She wore a knit set, with the corset-style top made entirely of yarn, featuring natural images (trees, bugs, shells) woven into the fabric. The skirt was a more plain, semi-sheer cream knit maxi. She broke up the monochrome with chunky black boots, hitting mid calf.
